This was mine and my husband’s first time eating at Albano’s. We heard some good things so we decided to try them out for our anniversary. We were not disappointed. We had the meatball appetizer, lasagna and short rib tortellini. Delish!! We were stuffed but we had to try the honey lavender cheesecake. The crust was the best I ever had and the cheesecake in all was fabulous!! We will be back
Incredible food. I’d even say it’s the best Italian in NWI. We called and they put us on the wait list. We walked in and got seated right away on a Friday night. Huge portions make up for the higher prices.. if that’s what is keeping you from going. The quality of food is out of this world. Top 3 best restaurants in Valpo. We got the Lasagna and the Potato Tortellini. The vibes are immaculate. Service was great and Nick and his staff are so friendly.
This place has the best pasta in NWI!!! I am a pasta lover, and I am always looking for an authentic Italian taste, and this place had my tastebuds going crazy! First, I had the fogaggio for an appetizer. This dish had an olive and marinara sauce for dipping. They say you can always tell when it’s an excellent olive oil when it lingers on the palette, and indeed it did. The marinara sauce had a deeply robust almost smoky taste that I have never experience before. I tried the Toscano wine, a semi dry red wine, that I could smell as soon as the waitress set it on the table. I’m usually a sweet wine gal, but I’ve been experimenting with dryer wines because they seem to have more of a flavor profile to enjoy. Finally, I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, while my husband chose the lobster tortellini and we took the chicken tortellini home for our son. Needless to say I sampled them all! They each took me on a unique and enjoyable flavor experience that rang tru to authentic Italian cuisine...simple, fresh, classic and YUM! We were too full for dessert, but maybe next time. We will definitely be back. This is my new favorite place. Also, although it’s called Albano’s, the name on the door says Panini Panini! You’re Welcome
Amazing pastas!!!!! The flavor was on point. Hope you go hungry because the portions are more than enough. Bread served with marinara and oil is very flavorful. Pictures don't justify it flavor. A must try
The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Quaint. Amazing house made focaccia. Amazing stretch to the bread. It could easily become addicting. Presentation of food is top tier. This is a MUST stop. Also, be aware the signage as of 4/2025 is “panini panini”.
So freaking amazing best pasta I've ever had. We had ordered the gluten free pumpkin tortellini and the short rib tortellini along with a honey lavender cheese cake.
If you have the chance to have a meal here, do not miss the opportunity! The food was INCREDIBLE and the service was fantastic. We came for a date night while in the area and had the best meal ever. One of a kind flavors! Huge portions! Totally worth the wait. Make sure to call ahead, as seating is very limited. Felt like we were in an exclusive club!
The pasta king is back in Valparaiso Indiana. Great pasta dishes and one of the best salads I have had. We had the corn tortellini, pork shoulder fusilli pasta and a shaved brussel sprout salad. Plus a chocolate covered strawberry cheesecake for desert. Quite the lunch and it will be also tomorrow's lunch there was so much food.
